Podscribe CEO Pete Birsinger says that means even a video that begins autoplaying on a user’s home screen can register a view. “If a video starts auto-playing on your home screen, now that will count as a view, whereas before it wouldn’t,” Birsinger said during a webinar presenting the company’s Q3 Performance Benchmark Report. That is a change from the previous metric. Podscribe says what YouTube now calls an Engaged View required playback beyond the second frame and some additional amount of viewing time. Engaged Views are now available to creators through the Advanced Mode of YouTube Analytics rather than as the platform’s public-facing
