A 75-year-old Jacksonville man died after driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 and colliding with two vehicles Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 75-year-old Jacksonville man died after driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 and colliding with two vehicles Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash happened at about 10:59 p.m. on southbound I-95 just south of Park Avenue, FHP said. The man was driving a van north in the southbound lanes when it sideswiped an SUV. The SUV came to a controlled stop, but the van continued traveling the wrong way.

The front of the van then struck the front of a sedan traveling southbound behind the SUV. Both vehicles came to rest in the middle lane, according to FHP. The van driver was taken to the hospital, where he died. The sedan’s 27-year-old driver, who is from Tampa, suffered serious injuries. Her 49-year-old Jacksonville passenger suffered critical injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital. The 26-year-old Jacksonville woman driving the SUV suffered minor injuries.
