Two men are facing charges after a violent road rage incident in a Douglas County school drop-off line led to a stabbing. Two men are facing charges after a violent road rage incident in a Douglas County school drop-off line. Authorities said Jacinto Lois Herrera, 39, and John Larranaga, 45, are facing multiple charges stemming from an August assault in which one person was stabbed. Herrera and Larranaga were involved in a violent dispute on Aug. 13 at approximately 7:34 a.m. The dispute began with a traffic collision in the school drop-off line of Cresthill Middle School before continuing into a nearby neighborhood, authorities said. Following the stabbing, a school resource officer arrived at the scene, separated the two men and rendered first aid to the individual who sustained a stab wound.

A knife was recovered at the scene. The school resource officer applied a chest seal and packed the wound before paramedics arrived. Following a weekslong investigation by the sheriff’s office, authorities charged both men. Herrera was charged with second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and driving under restraint. He was arrested Sept. 15. Larranaga was arrested on the day of the incident and was charged with first-degree assault, child abuse, second-degree assault, menacing, disorderly conduct and reckless driving.
