Man Killed In Granada Hills Shooting Identified  Patch

Authorities identified the man killed when a gunman opened fire on a parked vehicle in Granada Hills, leaving another man wounded. GRANADA HILLS, CA — Authorities have identified a 28-year-old man who was killed in a shooting that also wounded another man in Granada Hills earlier this month.. Rafael Rios was fatally shot early Sept. 13 near Yarmouth Avenue and Ludlow Street, just south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office. Officers responding to a reported shooting at about 1:45 a.m. found Rios in the front passenger seat of a parked vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A 25-year-old man who was sitting in the driver's seat was also shot. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition, police said. A third person who was inside the vehicle during the shooting was questioned and released, according to police. Investigators said the gunman approached the vehicle on foot, fired multiple rounds and fled. Police have not released a description of the suspect. Video from the scene showed officers investigating a silver Toyota sedan with a shattered passenger-side window, KTLA reported.
