A ground stop at Philadelphia International Airport expired as airports in the Northeast deal with delays and cancellations amid an equipment outage. The ground stop expired at 5 p.m., but the FAA said a ground delay will remain in effect until 9:59 p.m. at PHL. The equipment outage has not only affected flights at PHL. It caused ground stops at several airports, including Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. As of 5 p.m. Monday, there have been nearly 400 delays and almost 200 cancellations at PHL amid the equipment outage, according to FlightAware.
