Ian’s “Ride Across New York” Coming to Newark, Weedsport  Finger Lakes Daily News

Ian Mackay is traveling along the Erie Canalway Trail in his power wheelchair as part of the sixth “Ian’s Ride,” an effort promoting accessible outdoor recreation and greater investment in accessible trails. Mackay is scheduled to travel from Weedsport to Newark on Friday with an estimated arrival in Newark between 5 and 6 p.m.

A community welcome is planned at Runaway Blue Brewing Company. The Village of Newark is encouraging residents and trail users to join Mackay for part of Friday’s journey, whether for a mile or a longer stretch. He will continue from Newark to Rochester on Saturday. The trip is taking Mackay and two friends more than 370 miles along the Erie Canalway Trail from Albany to Buffalo.
