Mumbrella has been tracking 31 Australian news outlets’ Youtube video output every day for three months, and has built up a picture of the posters and the laggards.
The data reveals very different strategies when it comes to frequency and volume of video publishing. The two biggest channels, News24 and 60 Minutes Australia, are at opposite ends of the volume spectrum: News24 published 2950 longform (LF) videos in September, while 60 Minutes published just 27. In the case of News24, those 2950 videos generated 52.6m views — making it the biggest channel on this metric — while second-placed 60 Minutes came in with 14.6m views.
