Netflix has acquired animated preschool series Lumo the Lapland Reindeer for its service in the UK and Ireland. Produced by Lapland Studios, the studio division of UK-based live events company The Lapland Group, chaired by former Red Arrow Studios president James Baker, Lumo the Lapland Reindeer launched on YouTube Kids late last year. Developed alongside IP development studio and agency TeamFalco, the series follows a curious young reindeer and his best friends as they explore the changing seasons in Father Christmas’s Lapland.
Netflix will offer 5×13’ episodes from November 1. There are 30 episodes available on YouTube Kids. The series is led by creative producer and head writer Melissa Czaja (Teletubbies Let’s Go), with writers including Jo Clegg (Hey Duggee), Zahara Andrews (Moominvalley) and Roxana Altamirano (Dora, The Creature Cases).
