Wrong-way driver killed in I-95 crash that injured 3 others in Jacksonville  Action News Jax

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Friday on southbound Interstate 95 near Park Avenue. Troopers said a van driven by a 75-year-old Jacksonville man was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it sideswiped an SUV driven by a 26-year-old Jacksonville woman who was heading south. The SUV driver brought her vehicle to a controlled stop, while the van continued in the wrong direction. The van then collided with a southbound sedan traveling behind the SUV, FHP said.

The sedan was driven by a 27-year-old Tampa woman and carried a 49-year-old Jacksonville man as a passenger. The van and sedan stopped in the middle lane after the collision. The van driver was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he was pronounced dead. The sedan driver suffered serious injuries; her passenger was critically injured. Both were taken to UF Health. FHP reported one person was mildly injured and said all four people involved were wearing seatbelts. Troop G is investigating the crash.
