DENVER — A Waymo vehicle drove into the South Pearl Street Farmers Market on Sunday morning while vendors were still setting up, leaving market workers scrambling to clear the road and usher the car out. The incident happened around 8:40 a.m., according to Shari Wilkins, assistant manager of the market. Wilkins said barricades and signage were in place, but the Waymo got past both.

Market crew members tried to stop the vehicle. “I was actually at the end of the road there, chatting to some vendors,” Wilkins said. “And there was kind of like commotion. People were like, ‘Oh my god. There’s a Waymo driving down.’” Later, Wilkins learned the vehicle took a corner quickly and kept going down the road, passing a stop sign without stopping despite the barricades.
