Saturday to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Foxpointe Drive and Constance Lane. The caller said a man had approached their vehicle with an object in his hand, police said. When officers arrived, the suspect was holding a knife, police said. Cortland fire crews took the suspect to Northwestern Kishwaukee Hospital, where he died, police said. The DeKalb County Coroner's Office identified the man killed as David Coursey, 36 of Sycamore. Officers involved were taken to a hospital for evaluation and released.
