194th DSSB Soldiers Purify Water, Strengthen Sustainment Readiness in South Korea

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 194th Division Sustainment Support Battalion (DSSB), 2nd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade (DSB), 2d Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division (2ID/RUCD), tested and purified water from a natural source to provide essential sustainment support during operations at Dagmar North training site, South Korea, Aug. 20, 2026. Soldiers pumped water from the Imjin River near Paju into holding tanks.

From there, water treatment specialists tested the source for safety. Utilizing a Tactical Water Purification System (TWPS), they treated the water and stored it in distribution tanks and containers. The TWPS provides a rapidly deployable water purification system capable of providing 1500 gallons of potable water per hour to the warfighter. The system is capable of purifying, storing, and dispensing the water wherever and whenever it is needed. These capabilities enable Soldiers to operate anywhere they’re needed, requiring only a natural water source to sustain forces and maintain readiness to defend the region.
