International military students set to share cultures at Know Your World event Oct. 2

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — International military students from 36 countries are preparing to share their cultures with the Fort Leonard Wood community fr… FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — International military students from 36 countries are preparing to share their cultures with the Fort Leonard Wood community from 6 to 8 p.m., Oct. 2, 2026, during the 24th Know Your World event at Nutter Field House. Hosted by Fort Leonard Wood’s International Military Student Office,the event will feature cultural booths created by international students, showcasing their home countries' unique traditions, music, culinary heritage and national pride. Elizabeth Roloson, IMSO Field Studies program assistant, said her favorite part of the event is checking out the exotic foods prepared by the international military officers.

“I like to try food from around the world without leaving my own backyard,” Roloson said. According to Kenny Howard, IMSO Field Studies Program manager, community members are invited to engage directly with 63 international military officers, who will share insights from their home countries and answer questions during their presentations. “This is the community’s opportunity to travel the world without leaving Missouri,” Howard said. To encourage interactive learning, Howard said the event will feature a passport activity. Attendees can journey from table to table to find the answers to questions, and those who successfully complete their passports
