Man arrested after allegedly threatening UT Austin, local church, police say  KEYE

A 35-year-old Austin man has been arrested after allegedly making threats against the University of Texas at Austin and a local church, police said. The Austin Police Department said David Benjamin Coleman-Roush was arrested around 1:15 a.m. Friday on a third-degree felony charge of terroristic threat. Coleman-Roush was arrested in connection with an investigation in the 5700 block of Tapadera Trace Lane and remains in custody at the Travis County Jail, according to APD. ALSO| Austin police arrest 4 in drug, weapons operation near Barton Springs Pool The University of Texas Police Department said Coleman-Roush has no affiliation with the university. In a statement, UTPD Chief Shane Streepy said the man was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis when he made threats against the campus and others.

"The safety of Longhorns is our highest priority," Streepy said. "We are thankful to our partners at APD for their swift action to protect our Longhorn community." UTPD said it will continue monitoring the case and coordinating with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on potential threats. Police have not released additional details about the nature of the alleged threats or identified the church that was reportedly targeted.
