Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities. Atlanta Police Department officers questioned a witness after an argument inside an Aspen Court apartment escalated into a fatal shooting. ATLANTA – Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a southwest Atlanta apartment complex on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities. Authorities responded to the Aspen Court Apartments in the 1700 block of Stanton Road SW following reports of a shooting around 1:40 p.m. FOX 5's Annie Mapp spoke with investigators on scene who confirmed an argument inside an apartment escalated to gunfire. Police added that no children were inside the unit at the time of the shooting.

Officers found the victim, identified as a man in his early 20s, dead inside the apartment upon arrival. Police said the man had been shot multiple times. A person who was inside the apartment during the shooting is currently being questioned at Atlanta police headquarters, though no suspects have been formally named. "This is an argument that escalated," said Atlanta Police Department Capt. Germaine Dearlove. "Anytime there is an argument, we try to get an understanding of what occurred, but there is no argument that needs to end this way." Authorities have not released the victim's name
