Drivers in Duval and St. Johns counties are dealing with multiple crashes Sunday morning, including two reported fatal crashes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Drivers in Duval and St. Johns counties are dealing with multiple crashes Sunday morning, including two reported deadly crashes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The first crash happened around 1:27 a.m. on I-295 northbound near San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin. Investigators say a 34-year-old woman from St. Augustine was driving a car the wrong way, southbound in the northbound lanes, when her vehicle sideswiped another car. The car then collided head-on with a third vehicle, an SUV. The 34-year-old driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old Jacksonville man driving the second vehicle suffered minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle, a 35-year-old Jacksonville man, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to FHP. A second deadly crash happened around 5:13 a.m. on Interstate 295 southbound, south of Wilson Boulevard in Jacksonville. FHP says a 29-year-old Jacksonville man was driving an SUV southbound when he tried to avoid a disabled vehicle in the center lane. Investigators say the driver swerved left and the front of his SUV hit the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the inside shoulder. The SUV then rotated and came to rest
