CenterPoint Energy has sent line workers and other personnel from the Houston area to Pensacola, Florida, to help restore power as communities recover from Hurricane Isaias. HOUSTON – CenterPoint Energy has sent line workers and other personnel from the Houston area to Pensacola, Florida, to help restore power as communities recover from Hurricane Isaias. The deployment is part of a mutual assistance effort supporting Florida Power & Light as crews work to address storm-related power outages along the Northwest Florida coast. CenterPoint released some of its contractor line workers and vegetation management personnel to support the effort.

The combined workforce is expected to assist with restoration work over the coming days. The crews departed from CenterPoint’s Greenspoint Service Center in Houston on Saturday, Oct. 10, as the company joined utility workers from other areas in helping communities impacted by the storm. Mutual assistance allows electric utilities to send crews to other regions during major weather events, helping speed up power restoration when local resources are stretched.
