A Jacksonville man is facing two felony child neglect charges after he allegedly left two young children unattended outside an apartment before fleeing on foot, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man is facing two felony child neglect charges after he allegedly left two young children unattended outside an apartment before running away, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO says Ezra Tyson, 24, was arrested in the early morning hours of Oct. 18, on an active arrest warrant. Officers say they located Tyson at a business on Norwood Ave. and took him into custody. According to the arrest warrant, the incident occurred Oct. 9. A witness at an apartment complex told police that Tyson knocked on her door and left two children standing outside before walking away.

The witness said she opened her door moments later, expecting a DoorDash delivery, and found the two children standing outside — unsupervised and unannounced. A DoorDash driver who arrived at the scene told police he witnessed a man running away on foot. The witness was also able to view a brief preview of her doorbell camera footage, which showed Tyson at the door leaving the children, according to the affidavit. According to the affidavit, Tyson did not make contact with any adults at the apartment before leaving
