A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting at Hemisfair Park this past Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit. SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting at Hemisfair Park this past Sunday, according to an arrest affidavit. Court records show Isean Hardeman, 23, was charged with one count of murder, a first-degree felony. According to a San Antonio police preliminary report, officers responded to a shooting call before 5 a.m. in the 600 block of Hemisfair Plaza Way, which is located near South Alamo Street. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old man, later identified as Jonathan Alderete, with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. Officers determined Alderete got into a fight with a suspect, later identified as Hardeman, before he was shot and killed. It remains unclear what prompted the fight, but an affidavit states that surveillance video showed Hardeman and three other suspects taking a basketball that belonged to Alderete. According to the affidavit, the same video evidence also showed Hardeman fleeing on an e-scooter bike before ditching it, running past a downtown hotel, and hopping onto a VIA bus.
