Atlanta E911 services restored after technical issues  WSB-TV

ATLANTA — Atlanta's E-911 system is back online Tuesday morning after it crashed on Monday night. ATLANTA — Atlanta’s E-911 system is back online Tuesday morning after it crashed on Monday night. For several hours, operators could not receive or dispatch emergency calls through their computer system. Operators had to reroute calls to Fulton County until the technical issues were fixed.

[DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] “Even though we did experience issues with our 911 system … if you call 911, someone will answer and we will dispatch medical, police and fire resources to you,” 911 Executive Director Desiree Arnold said. Technicians are working to find out why the system crashed. But officials say it was not hacked.
