Technology provides the tools to prevent, detect, and respond to threats, but neither can succeed without people staying alert and making sound decisions online, together, these elements form a stronger defence,” Nepolo said. Cybercrime can affect people regardless of age, occupation or technical knowledge. A farmer could be targeted by altered supplier payment details, while a small business owner could have a WhatsApp business account hijacked and used to defraud customers.
