Two former U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command leaders whose careers helped shape Army aviation maintenance and sustainment have been inducted into t… Two former U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command leaders whose careers helped shape Army aviation maintenance and sustainment have been inducted into the U.S. Army Materiel Command Hall of Fame. Sammy Burns, former director of the AMCOM Field Maintenance Directorate, and William L. Braddy, former deputy to the commander and executive director of Corpus Christi Army Depot, were recognized for careers marked by leadership, innovation and lasting contributions to Army readiness. The two were inducted during a Sept. 11 ceremony hosted by Lt. Gen. Gavin Lawrence, AMC deputy commanding general and acting commander.

“You have left a legacy of excellence for all of us, and now, you will forever be enshrined as part of the AMC headquarters,” Lawrence said. Established in 2012, the AMC Hall of Fame honors Soldiers and civilians who have made significant and enduring contributions to AMC and the Army. The program preserves the command’s history while recognizing the leadership, service and dedication of former AMC members. Burns served 26 years in the military before beginning a 15-year civilian career with AMCOM. He served as director of the AMCOM Field Maintenance Directorate from 2005 until his retirement in 2021.
