Hornets Strike Streaming Deal With DAZN for Expanded Game Access in Carolinas Kiss 95.1 Charlotte
The Charlotte Hornets struck a streaming partnership with DAZN. Seventy-five regular-season games will now reach fans across North Carolina and South Carolina. The squad becomes the ninth NBA franchise to join the platform for the 2026-27 season.DAZN will stream 71 games through its service alone, with four additional contests available through national TV providers. Five games are slated for national television on ESPN, ABC, NBC Peacock, or Prime Video."We set out this past off-season to find ways to engage our fans and provide more accessibility," said Mike Behan, the Hornets Chief Business & Revenue Officer, per the Charlotte Observer. "I think this solution certainly solves for that."The streaming agreement arrives weeks after Charlotte announced a one-year TV deal with Cox Media Group worth $7 million to $8 million.
WSOC Channel 9 and TV64 will broadcast all non-nationally televised games for free over the air in the Charlotte market.Sources said the franchise will get a rights fee between $1 million and $2 million from DAZN. The team and platform have a shared advertising revenue agreement, and DAZN will commit marketing dollars to educate audiences across both states.Charlotte has an exit clause to join the NBA's aggregated streaming hub when it launches for the 2027-28 season.
