Man Kidnapped For Ransom Near Valley Shopping Center: LAPD  Patch

PORTER RANCH, CA — Two men have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a man for ransom at or near a shopping center in the west San Fernando Valley, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers responded to a report of a kidnapping for ransom at around 3:30 p.m. Monday in the 19900 block of Rinaldi Street, near Porter Ranch Town Center, police said. Detectives from the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division took over the investigation and worked through the night, developing leads that brought them to the 900 block of West Eighth Place in downtown Los Angeles, where two suspects were taken into custody.

The suspects were identified as 28-year-old Anthony Christos and 28-year-old Morgan Peters. Both were booked on suspicion of kidnapping for ransom, with bail set at $1.05 million each, according to police. The victim was found safe in the 22800 block of Victory Boulevard in Woodland Hills, police said. Authorities did not release details about the circumstances of the kidnapping, including whether a ransom was paid or how the victim was located. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for consideration of criminal charges.
