Skill games coming out of Philadelphia stores as deadline nears NBC10 Philadelphia
Skill games are being removed from Philadelphia businesses ahead of a deadline following a Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling. Pennsylvania business owners now have exactly one week left to remove skill games or face a potential visit from law enforcement. NBC10’s Aaron Baskerville caught up with Councilman Anthony Philips who said the machines were the “worst thing ever,” to come to Philadelphia. Pennsylvania businesses have one week left to remove skill games after the state Supreme Court classified the machines as slot machines. Businesses have until Oct. 13 to remove the machines from bars, corner stores and gas stations. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court gave businesses 120 days to comply with its June ruling.

In Philadelphia on Tuesday, a worker for G and B Amusements was removing skill games from stores, including a gas station in the Fairmount neighborhood. Workers at the gas station said they were thrilled to see the machine removed, saying the games brought “riff raff” into the store and created safety concerns. Philadelphia City Councilman Anthony Phillips happened to be at the gas station as the machines were being loaded onto a truck. “I’m excited. I’m literally excited, cause these machines were the worst thing ever, to ever come to our neighborhoods,” Phillips said. Breaking news and
