A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after a shooting on the West Side Sunday evening and suspects who may be connected have not yet been located, according to San Antonio police. SAN ANTONIO – A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after a shooting on the West Side Sunday evening and suspects who may be connected have not yet been located, according to San Antonio police. Officers responded around 6:30 p.m. near Menchaca and North Elmendorf streets and found a teenager with a gunshot wound to his torso, according to a SAPD preliminary report sent on Monday. Police initially said the teenager was shot twice at the West Side apartment and taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, two suspects fled from the scene and police are continuing to search for them to determine who allegedly shot the boy. Police said the teenager described one of the suspects to SAPD as another 16-year-old boy. On Monday, a report also described the other suspect as an unknown male. Investigators on scene believe one of the suspects may know the victim from school. At this time, it’s unclear what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.
