The Bayeux Tapestry returns to England after nearly 1,000 years

In the middle of the night, the Bayeux Tapestry, an 11th century masterpiece, was moved to London’s British Museum in a transfer shrouded in secrecy. The loan from France marks the first time the nearly 230-foot-long tapestry has returned to England in nearly 1,000 years.
