‘Just want a solution’: North Side apartment residents say they’ve gone without hot water for weeks  KSAT

Residents at Ayla at Castle Hills on the North Side said they have been without hot water for weeks. New management said upgrades are complete, but the system is awaiting equipment from CPS Energy before hot water service can be restored. SAN ANTONIO – Michael Aaron, who lives at Ayla at Castle Hills on Jackson Keller Road, said his family has been without hot water since the beginning of September. Aaron told KSAT his family has tried boiling water on the stove, but with two teenagers in the home, he said it is difficult to rely on that as a long-term solution. Last week, Aaron said his family spent about $60 on a hotel room so they could take showers.

They planned to do it again this week, but are reconsidering because it is becoming an expense they can’t keep taking on. “We just felt like we can’t keep spending money on that,” Aaron said. The lack of hot water has also affected other parts of the household, he said. Dishes have piled up, and Aaron said the dishwasher takes longer to run because the water stays cold.
