A Jacksonville preschool teacher was arrested on a felony child abuse charge, months after authorities said she dragged a young child by the ear inside a local school. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville preschool teacher was arrested on a felony child abuse charge, months after authorities said she dragged a young child by the ear inside a local school. Cheyenne Alyssa Eigner, 28, was taken into custody Oct. 1, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Officers arrested her on an active warrant after an incident that happened on May 22. The report has the incident location listed as 9039 Beach Boulevard, which is Cornerstone Christian School.

JSO investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the school and said the video showed Eigner grabbing a child by the ear and dragging her from one side of a desk to the other, the report said. The child immediately clutched her ear once Eigner let go, the report stated. The child appeared to be in pain but sustained no lasting injury, according to the affidavit. Eigner faces one count of child abuse, a third-degree felony. Click here to take a moment and familiarize yourself with our Community Guidelines.
