I-20 E. lane closures scheduled in Conyers for bridge widening  FOX 5 Atlanta

Georgia Department of Transportation crews will close one left lane of Interstate 20 eastbound at Exit 82, serving State Route 20 and State Route 138, from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday. The work is weather permitting and is tied to the bridge reconstruction and widening effort underway in Conyers. The closure affects only eastbound traffic at the exit during overnight hours. Officials have not said whether additional weekend lane closures will be needed as the project continues. The $83.6 million project will replace the existing six-lane Diverging Diamond Interchange bridge with an eight-lane structure carrying four lanes in each direction.

The existing bridge is a six-lane Diverging Diamond Interchange structure. Plans also call for dual left-turn lanes and sidewalks, direct access to I-20 westbound from Dogwood Drive, and a mini-roundabout on Dogwood Drive at the western entrance to Conyers Plaza.
