The Chief of Space Operations described a Guardian jamming enemy satellite links under missile fire during Operation Epic Fury. She had been in the Space Force for two years. She was somewhere in the Middle East, at a console, with a trailer-mounted dish pointed at the sky. Within hours of Operation Epic Fury beginning she was handed a priority target package and told to reconfigure her weapon system. Then the Alarm Red sirens started and Iranian missiles came in at her site. She stayed at the console. Her commander eventually had to physically pull her out of it. That story was the centrepiece of the new Chief of Space Operations’ first major speech, and it is the clearest account yet of the Space Force actually fighting.
