WRTV no longer available on DIRECTV as negotiations continue  WRTV

Circle City Broadcasting remains committed to reaching a fair agreement with DIRECTV and restoring WRTV to affected customers. TO ALL DIRECTV, AT&T U-VERSE, AND DIRECTV STREAM CUSTOMERS: WRTV is no longer available to DIRECTV customers after Circle City Broadcasting and DIRECTV were unable to reach a new retransmission agreement before the previous agreement expired at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24. Circle City Broadcasting, the locally based owner of WRTV, WISH-TV and WNDY, remains committed to working with DIRECTV to reach a fair agreement and restore WRTV to affected customers as soon as possible. Circle City Broadcasting has negotiated with DIRECTV in good faith and has offered what it believes are fair market terms for its stations.

Circle City Broadcasting maintains that DIRECTV is treating its locally owned stations differently than stations owned by larger broadcast groups and placing less value on the local news, weather, sports and community programming they provide to Hoosiers. While WRTV is unavailable through DIRECTV, viewers can continue receiving WRTV free over the air with an antenna and through other television providers that carry the station. The interruption affects DIRECTV customers and does not impact WRTV’s over-the-air broadcast.
